Musculoskeletal Health
Open forum with our Physical Therapist Shawn Marquis, MSPT, NCPT
Wednesday November 20th 5:30 - 6:30pm
Shawn gets stopped a lot in our studio with questions about muscles, joints, pain and more. Come with questions regarding your musculoskeletal health and Shawn will have time to talk with you more in-depth about issues and how Pilates and or manual therapy can help. Light snacks and refreshments provided.

New Stretch Class Coming Soon
A new class will be on the schedule for the holidays in November and December. Come in and stretch, breathe and elongate during the busy holiday season! Wednesdays at 11am with Pam Hasselbring.

Why do you love Pilates?
I love Pilates because it helped me escape the cycle of chronic neck and low back pain. Honestly, I don’t know where I’d be without Pilates. It has been part of my life since the late 90s, and eventually lead me to a “semi-retirement” career that I absolutely love.

What Brought You to Pilates MN?
I’d like to say PilatesMN found me. I was referred to Pam by one of her former employees shortly after I completed my Pilates training. I still remember the day I met Pam, it just felt like a great fit.  Fortunately for me, Pam agreed! I love that PilatesMN is grounded in the foundation of Physical Therapy and cares about educating our clients, keeping them safe, challenged, and pain-free.

Favorite Book?
Barbara Kingsolver is one of my favorite authors. She has a way with words that touch my heart and help connect me with my own community and nature. If I have to pick a favorite, it is her 2nd novel, "Animal Dreams".

Favorite Movie?
“Crazy in Alabama” - it is a quirky film full of life’s most important lessons: being honest, respecting others, and the importance of our freedom and the freedom to pursue our dreams. 

Favorite Song?
Right now “The Highwomen” is my favorite CD, and “Crowded Table” and “Redesigning Women” are my favorite songs.  Literally, I can’t stop listening to this entire CD. It’s a very unique collaboration of inspiring songs from beginning to end and one of my all-time favorite artists, Brandi Carlile, is a member of this amazing collaborative effort.

What's On Your Bucket List?
A trip to Australia, and attending the Americana Music Festival in Nashville, TN.

Fun at the Boo Bash Dash
Last weekend Pilates MN sponsored the Boo Bash Dash and helped to start this event with now a 5K, 10K, Lake Street Mile and Pumpkin Derby where we raced our pumpkins. The proceeds of this event go to support Wayzata Sailing Center, which gives kids opportunities to sail that wouldn't otherwise have the opportunity.
