Hope you can join us for another Zoom meeting tonight!
As our bodies begin to acclimate to the cleanse, and the mung beans, ghee and digestive spices do their work, it is very normal to feel various detox symptoms at this point in the process. This may include aches in the body (including headaches or muscle fatigue), feelings of sluggishness, a noticeable coating on the tongue, changes in appetite, and/or a bit of moodiness.

Whatever is happening (or not happening) for you, please trust that your body is cleansing in exactly the way it needs to. Also know that whatever is happening now is temporary and will pass with time. This is a particularly good day to add in some extra time for self-care, quiet reflection or other nourishing and supportive activities.

I encourage each of you to take some time today to check in via our group forum (or live in our morning session today) and let us know how the process is going...and to request any support you may need!

Our second Zoom call takes place tonight at 5:30 p.m. Pacific. We'll review the cleanse routine for the remainder of the week at that time, and steep in some seasonal Ayurvedic wisdom.

Please have a pen and paper/journal available for the call (including everything that you journaled during our first call).

If you can't make the live session, a recording will be posted as soon as possible afterward for playback at your convenience.

Please also join our yoga Shala for a class or meditation in person or on the video channel, if you can, to help melt away any difficulties that may be arising on Day 3, and to soak in the power of being together in community.
🌟 Today's Cleanse Challenges 🌟
1) Cleanse your space energetically with smudge or by singing a song, or continue to do it physically. Cleansing often inspires us to clear space in our physical environment, especially in the spring. Spend some time decluttering or organizing a closet, drawer or other space in your home or workspace that could use some attention. (We'll have other challenges later this week specifically for cleaning up your kitchen and email/virtual spaces, so focus on other areas for now.)

2) Words matter: Check out this article about the power of our words, and learn how the language of choice that I talked about on last week's meeting is a way for us to exert our power and autonomy. This practice is one we can carry with us beyond the cleanse period in other areas of life where we make the choice to prioritize ourselves and our well-being. Can you begin to notice other areas where you may be applying restrictive language?

3) Have a listen to our group playlist! Enliven Day 3 of kitchari by enjoying our cleanse playlist, which can now be found on Spotify. If you haven't yet contributed a song, pop on over to the group forum and share your suggestions there and we will get them added.

If you wish to incorporate further cleansing methods for the next couple of days, here is a link to the Ayurvedic enema or Basti recipe.

Wishing you all well as you navigate whatever Day 3 may bring your way.
