Yo,
"An email from Pierre Rousseaux!" You're probably wondering why I'm showing up in your inbox. Some of you already know me, others don't. I'm Pierre Rousseaux, the happy founder of Yoga Room. You already receive a lot of emails from me, but few of them show you behind the scenes: our vision, our mission, the project we have for and with you at Yoga Room.
So I decided to write to you here, every two weeks. A sort of diary, mood board, or notebook... I'm not sure yet. The idea is to reconnect with those who bring Yoga Room to life, you the members, by taking more time. Surprising? Not really. I should have done it a long time ago!
The first members of Yoga Room still remember: when I launched this project in 2016, I spent almost all my time at the studio. Either "on the mat," teaching or practicing, or in the hallways, exchanging with you. I loved those years of true sharing. Since then, even though I try to spend as much time as possible in the studios, between Brussels, Paris, Lyon, and Lisbon, the natural order of things has pushed me to take care of other things as well, and I've gone from being a simple yogi to a yogi studio manager, general manager, recruiter, father of my two children... new strings to my bow that require balance, time, and energy.
But for a few months now, I've been facing a paradox that doesn't suit me.
→ On the one hand, the more the project grows, the more I realize that the mission I set for myself seven years ago by creating Yoga Room is: to democratize accessible and high-quality yoga for as many people as possible, to change your lives as it has changed mine. → On the other hand, the more Yoga Room gains momentum, the less time I have to connect with each and every one of you. To share my thoughts, to ask you questions... in short, to include you in this adventure.
This newsletter is therefore a second cornerstone to take you behind the scenes of Yoga Room. You will find the thoughts that drive me, answers to your questions, more personal sharing or spotlights on our teachers from all corners of the world. After all, Yoga Room is no longer just "my" project, it is also the success of those who have been lighting the flame of yoga in people's hearts there for 7 years.
You may have noticed that I talked about the "second" cornerstone. Because the first one was already laid at the beginning of 2023. Always with the idea of creating a connection with you, I gave access to my professional schedule to anyone who wanted to have coffee with me to exchange face-to-face. In one month, I met nearly 50 of you at Poz Café, next to Yoga Room Defacqz. Proof, if any was needed, of our common desire to discuss more. |
