Pierre's word #2 edition

I just turned 40, but I was born 13 years ago.
Yo,

How have you been since the last time?

Two weeks ago, I told you about my desire to connect with you. In my very first editorial (find it here), I made 3 announcements:

1. The launch of my newsletter every 15 days.
2. The organization of the first Yoga Room Members Forum in Brussels.
3. The creation of membersforum@yoga-room.be to share your ideas.

I did not expect such numerous and enthusiastic feedback from you. We have already received more than 200 emails, with ideas as interesting as they are innovative! Thank you for that. And this is only the beginning since the first Members Forum will take place on April 12 at 6:30 p.m. in Brussels. You can still register by clicking here.

But let's come to today's topic.
I turned 40 on March 14.
40 years! A significant birthday. However, I feel like I was really “born”… 13 years ago. And I will say why.
13 years ago, I encountered yoga.
At the time, in 2010, I was living in Shanghai. I had never practiced yoga in my life, I lived at 1000 an hour and I thought I was the stiffest man in the world. Until I was taken to a hot yoga class (with Bill, who runs some hot yoga classes in Brussels for now!). I went there without knowing what it was, convinced that it was not made for me. I changed, grumbled quite a bit, then walked into the room with 100 other students. And there, first shock. It was very, very hot.

I had the most overwhelming 90 minutes of my life.
This first experience was so hard that to complete the course, I had no choice but to focus on my breathing. And it was at this precise moment that the magic of yoga operated. I disconnected from my busy life to reconnect with myself. I left the room completely dazed. But I went back the next day. And the day after. And daily, for 30 days. Each time, the same magic: an automatic reset of my mind. As if I cut the contact of my life to rekindle the flame of my destiny.
Gradually, I woke up.
“Cut-off contact” allowed me to put my priorities in order. For the first time, I clearly visualized where I needed to go. I understood that I was living without having a course. Whereas in reality, I wanted to spend time with my family, to undertake, to do more sport, to live close to the elements (the wind, the sea, the mountains…), to listen to my heart. Everything I neglected for a long time. But to be able to see it all so clearly, I first had to drool over the yoga mat. Those hot yoga classes were hell!
This is why I created Yoga Room.
Because I hope you too will find a passion that breathes life into you. Everything we do at Yoga Room is designed so that you can experience this magical moment. Who will transform you into the best version of yourself. And give meaning to your life.

See you in two weeks.

Namaste power
yoga forever

Pierre
